Dr. Shervin Assassi is a Professor of Medicine, the Director of the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Texas – Houston, and the co-director of the Scleroderma Program at McGovern Medical School, which includes one of the largest specialized scleroderma clinics in the USA. Dr. Assassi is also an active scleroderma researcher; his current research interests include the correlation of clinical features of systemic sclerosis with genetic and gene expression data to identify novel therapeutic targets and to develop clinically useful biomarkers. Dr. Assassi is a leader of the SRF-funded CONQUER Registry. He chairs the CONQUER Executive Committee and is the Director of the CONQUER Biorepository.
